Easy Fast Hepatitis B Test at Home (HBsAg)
Hepatitis B is a viral disease that causes inflammation of the liver. The virus is found in the liver as well as in the blood and other body fluids. This allows Hepatitis B to be transmitted through the blood but also sexual contacts. It is enough that you get minimal amounts of infectious fluid to risk infection, for example, by sticking on a syringe that has been used by an infected individual.
The incubation time for hepatitis B is relatively long. It may take two to six months for symptoms to develop. You can be contagious for up to six weeks before you feel ill yourself. You can continue to be a carrier for three to six months after feeling healthy again.
It is, therefore, essential to continue taking the Hepatitis B Test at Home blood tests also a Hepatitis C test if you have been infected so you don’t put others at risk.
Most people who get hepatitis B get healthy. Still, some individuals get so-called chronic hepatitis B that lives for the rest of their lives. If you have this form of hepatitis, you should be aware of the risk of infection (for example, by always protecting your partner during sex) and be careful about drinking alcohol.
Small children (under five years) who get hepatitis B rarely get any symptoms, and only about half of the adults affected by hepatitis B get the symptoms. This allows you to spread the infection without being aware that you are carrying it.
You can only get hepatitis B once in your life. However, you can still get other types of hepatitis, even though you have or have had this disease.
Symptoms of hepatitis B
These are the most common symptoms of hepatitis B. However, not all of them are affected (see above):
Influenza-like symptoms with headaches, joint pains, and other pain in the body as well as fever and fatigue.
Lack of appetite and nausea, in some cases, vomiting.
The whites of the eyes and the skin turn yellowish (hence the older name of the disease: jaundice).
Inflammation of the liver reduces its ability to break down certain substances. Among other things, you can become very sensitive to some medications and tolerate less alcohol than before. The yellowish color of the skin and the whites of the eyes is caused by the yellow substance bilirubin as the liver can no longer clear it from the body.
Those who suffer from chronic hepatitis B can lead to permanent liver damage such as scarring and cirrhosis. There is also an increased risk of liver cancer in these patients. Therefore, regular Hepatitis B Test at Home sampling is vital in order to be able to initiate treatment on time.
Treatment of hepatitis B
Since hepatitis B is an infectious disease that is considered dangerous, you should always get tested if you suspect you have had this disease or may have been infected. Get a Hepatitis B Test at Home a blood sample to confirm or deny that you have just had hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B does not usually require treatment but heals by itself. Of course, you should seek care if your fever or your pain is very severe so that you can get relief.
How Hepatitis B infection spreads
Blood and other body fluids are carriers of the hepatitis B virus. For example, you may be infected if you get blood on damaged skin or your mucous membranes. A stick on an infected syringe can also suffice for the infection to be transmitted. The sharing of needles among drug addicts is a common source of infection.
Hepatitis B also infects sexually, and precisely sexual contacts are among the most common pathways of infection. About 25% of those who come in contact with the virus get the disease. It also happens that mothers transmit the disease to their child at birth.
So how do you avoid infection?
The best protection against hepatitis B is vaccination, and this is offered to you if you live or work in an environment where this disease is common, for example, in health care. If you are visiting a country where hepatitis B is common, vaccination is also recommended.
Always get tested with a Hepatitis B at Home test and contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible if you have a positive Hepatitis Test result. So any infection can be stopped if you receive a vaccine within 24 hours.
Hepatitis B One-Step HBsAg (WB) Home Test
home screening test for hepatitis B virus “all types” in the whole-blood samples.
The One-Step HBsAg test (WB) (WB) is used for the qualitative determination of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human whole blood. This test is intended for the screening of blood and blood products to be used for transfusion and an aid for the diagnosis of existing or previous hepatitis B infection.
HBsAg is one of the earliest markers that appear in the blood following infection with the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). This infection of the liver is transmitted by homosexual or heterosexual activity, bloodborne exposure, mother-infant, close personal contact and by intake of contaminated water and food products. In the HBV infected people, the virus persists for the rest of their lives and can be passed on to others. Therefore Hepatitis B has become a global public health problem.
Infection with HBV results in the appearance of a number of serological markers and one of the first of such markers is Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The HBV infection causes a wide variety of liver damages such as acute self-limiting infection, fulminating hepatitis, chronic hepatitis with progression to cirrhosis and liver failure, and symptomatic chronic carrier state.
Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) appears 1-7 weeks before biochemical evidence of liver disease or jaundice. Three weeks after the onset of acute hepatitis almost half of the patients will still be positive for HBsAg. In the chronic carrier state, the HBsAg persists for long periods (6-12 months) with no seroconversion to the corresponding antibodies. Therefore, screening for HBsAg is highly desirable for all donors, pregnant women and people in high-risk groups.
The One-Step HBsAg test (WB) is a chromatographic immunoassay (CIA) for the rapid qualitative determination of human hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in whole blood. The membrane is pre-coated with an anti-HBsAg capture antibody on the test band region and Rabbit anti-goat IgG on the control band region.
During testing，the specimen is allowed to react with the colloidal gold particles which have been coated with goat-anti-HBsAg. The mixture then moves laterally on the membrane by capillary action. For a positive result, a pink-colored band with a specific antibody-HBsAg-antibody-colloidal gold particle complex will form on the test band region.
The absence of a colored band in the test band region indicates a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a pink-colored band at the control region will always appear regardless of the presence of HBsAg.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
The One-Step HBsAg test (WB) should be stored at room temperature (up to 30℃) in the sealed pouch or desiccated container. Do not use it after the expiration date.
For home and INVITRO diagnostic use only
The test device should remain in the sealed pouch until use.
There should be no smoking or eating where antigen containing materials are being handled. Wash hands thoroughly afterward.
Decontaminate and dispose of specimens and all potentially contaminated materials if they contain the infectious agent
LIMITATION OF PROCEDURE
HBsAg test device is used for the detection of HBsAg in human blood. Based on a single reactive test result, a sample should not be considered HBsAg positive. Further testing, including confirmatory testing, should be performed before a specimen is considered positive for HBsAg. A non-reactive test result does not exclude the possibility of exposure to the hepatitis B virus. Levels of HBsAg may be undetected both in early infection and late after infection. Specimens containing precipitate may give inconsistent test results.
The positive control in the test kit is not to be used to quantify assay sensitivity. The positive control is used to verify that the test kit components are capable of detecting a reactive specimen provided the procedure is followed as defined in the kit and the storage conditions have been strictly adhered to.
A procedural control is included in the test. A colored band appearing on the control region of the membrane indicates proper performance and reactive reagents.
PERFORMANCE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
Sensitivity The One-Step HBsAg test (WB) detects hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) concentration in whole blood specimens higher than 2ng/ml as indicated by the development of a colored band in the test region of the strip.
Specificity Antibodies used for the One-Step HBsAg test (WB) were raised against the whole hepatitis B surface antigen. All subtype HepatitisBantigens (adr， adw， ayr， ayw) show positive results with the One-Step HBsAg test (WB). On the other Hepatologic diseases patients do not produce positive with One-Step HBsAgtest(WB).
